Transport Assessments
Our services include assessment of the transportation implications of all types of commercial development including residential, employment, leisure, retail and mixed land use proposals. This typically includes estimation of the number of trips generated and their distribution onto the surrounding road network, site access design, and the provision of facilities for sustainable modes of travel such as buses, cycles and walking. These assessments are prepared in close association with the other professional members of the project team.

Travel Plans
Travel Plans are becoming increasingly important for all new commercial developments. Our work ranges from preparing a generic plan at the pre-planning stage through to monitoring site-specific plans after occupation.

Accessibility Planning
We assess the accessibility of new development sites to local facilities (e.g., education, employment, retail, community and recreational facilities) using recognised assessment criteria and guidance produced by the Institution of Highways and Transportation.

Sustainable Modes of Travel
With increasing attention paid to sustainable modes of travel, we identify and design facilities to support and encourage travel by sustainable means, such as bus, cycle and on foot. Typical public transport facilities provided in association with new developments include new or extended bus services, bus subsidies and vouchers, and new or improved infrastructure (e.g., shelters, real-time passenger information and bus gates). We identify and design pedestrian and cyclist facilities to complement other modes of travel, including shared footways/cycleways, crossing facilities, greenways, shared surfaces and home zones.
